The magic was real in our most recent Fairy Garden class. Our attendees surely believed in fairies, and they were quite confident making a new garden home for a new fairy friend.
Our little gardeners began their evening, enchanted with Cicely Mary Barker’s book, Flower Fairies of the Autumn; she is a famous author, from the 1920s, whose magical fairy illustrations are believed to be responsible for our modern-day love for fairies.
With our newfound inspiration, we named our new fairy friends, and built a special dwelling for each of them, complete with miniature woodland animals and accessories.
Each fairy garden came to life with perfectly-picked miniature plants, provided by our partnering business, Cultured Roots, and each student learned how to take care of them with water and sunlight. Our confident little-gardeners went home with special made-by-them fairy gardens, sprinkled with magical fairy dust.
Can you imagine your child waking each morning, to check on a fairy garden?
Gardening is a beautiful experience at any age. Witnessing the ebb and flow of a plant’s life cycle is captivating and is a great way to teach children compassion and responsibility… and parents: witnessing a child’s desire to caring for others - that’s truly magical.
Our fairy garden class has been (by far) Home Becoming’s most popular class offered this fall. If you missed out on signing up your fairy-lover, we have good news for you! Our Fairy Garden class will be back (by popular demand), on November 16th, 6-7pm. Invite a friend, and reserve your seat today!
